Let's talk about SQL

Structured Query Language (SQL) is used to add, delete, update, retrieve, and manage data in databases. SQL has been used since the 1970s and is the standard language for relational database management. SQL is not considered a programming language, rather, it's a query language. Therefore there is no coding needed in order to retrieve large amounts of information from a database.

Learning SQL is helpful

SQL is the most commonly used database language worldwide and is making a comeback to become the universal standard interface for data analysis. It's not particularly difficult to learn SQL, in fact, SQL was created to give common people the possibility to retrieve data from databases. However, companies rely on data and need to understand the information that these databases provide. Therefore SQL is one of the most sought-after skills by employers, next to JavaScript. Project managers, data scientists, and developers of all kinds can benefit from learning SQL.

Benefits of SQL

SQL has many benefits, including high speed, portability, and the fact that you do not need coding knowledge to retrieve data. Easy to learn and to use, SQL is a universal relational database language used globally by various industries. Using the SQL language, users can make different views of the database structure for different users. SQL is in high demand as a means of data analysis for companies of all sizes due to its versatility, speed, and effectiveness.
