The HTML generations

HTML continued to grow since it's creation, and as more developers created improvements to it with new, powerful tags, browsers that were simply text-based began to host images and other elements. Microsoft also jumped into the game and created additions and improvements leading to HTML 3 (later dropped), HTML 4, then HTML 5. The language has come a long way since the 90s, and is the major language of the internet.
